Racing for Recovery

Racing for Recovery
One of the most inspirational talks in America today!

An incredible story of hitting rock bottom, and rising back to life through running, swimming and cycling.

Todd Crandell's drug use and drinking destroyed his life. In his twenties he had gone from being a hockey player on his way to a professional career to a homeless, starving and drug-addicted ghost of himself. After several brutal and harrowing encounters with rock-bottom, he decided to quit cold turkey; then he took up triathlons, and found that athletic effort helped him overcome his addictions. Since becoming sober on April 15, 1993, Todd has founded an organization (Racing for Recovery) that targets adolescents fighting drugs and alcohol. He now competes regularly in Ironman Triathlons (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, 26.2 mile marathon run), works as a professional speaker and drug counselor, helping others to use sports and other positive endeavors to prevent or escape addiction. A mesmerizing, inspirational story of self-destruction and resurrection.

THINGS PEOPLE SAY...
- Todd Crandell's book is an inspiring, emotionally charged journey from the darkest of dark places to the light at the end of that tunnel.

- Todd is not an expert because of his credentials, title, or schooling - rather, he is an expert because he has battled addiction first-hand and is still alive to tell the tale.

- The film was great and will have an impact on all who see it.

- I laughed and cried which is always a sign of a good production.
